Itinerary - 9 Day Tour
Day 1..
Depart Cape Town via Sir Lowry’s Pass and the apple/pear orchards of the region or via the “Reviera of the Cape” to the historic town of Swellendam Continue past Riversdale to Mosselbay, visit the Old Post Office Tree-the first postal transaction of South - Africa took place here in 1500. Board the Caravel, the first explorer used to sail into this bay , anno 1488. Overnight at the “Old Post Office Tree Manor”, or Munro Manor.
Day 2..
After breakfast travel via the Robinson Pass to the mecca of the South African ostrich farming - Oudtshoorn - After a tour through the Safari Show Ranch , and a ride on the fastest animal on two legs , we have lunch - specialty , ostrich steak Thereafter , visit the crocodile/cheetah farm - optional . Continue through to the world famous drip-stone caves , the most beautiful in the world “Cango Caves”. Via the picturesque Outeniqua Pass to George - Wilderness or overnight at a delightful guest house in Oudtshoorn.
Day 3..
Leave George on board of the “Outeniqua Choo Tjoe Train”, through the Wilderness over - five lakes - two estuaries .Arrive at Knysna for lunch at the lagoon Through “The Garden of Eden”, to Plettenberg bay , the “Pearl of the Garden Route”, through Natures Valley , to the Tsitsikamma rain forest , to Port Elizabeth . Overnight at the historical
Marine or Beach Hotel , overlooking the Algoa Bay .
Day 4..
Carry on to Bloemfontein , via the Addo Elephant Park , for a short visit . Final destination for today is Thaba Nchu Sun,a casino/hotel , where you can try your luck with “fortuna”. Enjoy the beautiful surrounds of this ex “Homeland”,before going to rest in comfortable accommodation.
Day 5..
After breakfast , on our way to Johannesburg , the “City of Egoli”, the city of gold . A visit to the “Gold Reef City”.A trip down the mine shaft , in search of gold , watch a cultural show . Continue to Sandton for overnight in a wonderful hotel .
Day 6..
After visiting the “Voortrekker Monument” (optional), we continue through our gold and coal producing area of South -Africa Via the Erasmus Pass - Strydom Tunnel , to Hoedspruit, to a private Game Park/Lodge . Check in and freshen up before leaving for our first experience of the bush and its diversity of wild animals , in open safari vehicles . Return after dark for a traditional dinner (included) and overnight rest , if one is not to hyper.
Day 7..
You are awakened to tea/coffee and snacks before heading out for bush walk to corner the elusive big five Return for a scrumptious breakfast. Continue to the world renown Wildlife - Sanctuary , the Kruger National Park with all its 20000 square kilometer of diversity of African wild life , full of excitement and surprises . Check in at your rondavel before going on a night drive through the park in open landrovers - unforgettable.
Day 8..
Early morning game drive , with breakfast on route , to check one of the big five one might have missed.We are now leaving the magnificent park for Hazyview , via the Blyde River Canyon , Bourks - Luck - Potholes .“Gods Window”.Overnight at Hazyview.
Day 9..
After breakfast we continue to Sabie. Visit Pilgrims Rest (old gold diggers town through Robbers pass to Lydenburg, Middelburg, back to Johannesburg in time for your evening international flight back home .
